An Intro to a Newsletter

I've written a blog for years — mostly read by a few hundred people who found me through Google. If you know me, you know I keep up with most of my friends over text and email, and when it comes up people are surprised I have a blog at all. It's a collection of coffee, tech, what I'm up to...that sort of stuff.

Lately I've been writing a lot more long-form, mostly because AI has been quietly taking over so much of my other work and i need more wind in my life to keep me from just toppling over.

So I did something maybe a little presumptuous: I took advantage of having so many of your emails and added you to a newsletter version of the blog. Not every post will land in your inbox but this felt like a good way to stay in touch. Reply. Tell me what you think. Send me pictures of your life. I'll take a two-way conversation over shouting into the void any day.

Maybe you're reading this thinking I'm nuts. Cool, unsubscribe and that's that. Or maybe it's the start of us staying a little more in touch. ...or maybe I'm just talking to your junk folder. Either way, I hope you're having a marvellous day.

And if you're here from the way-back of my contacts list, here's a speed run of life lately:

  • worked the go-go-juice machines for a bit
  • did tech for over a decade and got to work at some amazing places, doing amazing things, with amazing people
  • got married, struggled to have kids, then the dam broke: two sets of twins and a singleton, five kids in under five years
  • quit tech to become a mechanic and haven't looked back
  • ...still can't quit tech, so I've got two software projects going: AudioBrevity and NORDVEST

That's me.

Cheers,
Peter
